Welcome to democracy and the stupidity that goes with it. These 'filmmakers' and 'artists' make some totally disgusting videos, get a who-knows-what to do a little internet salespitch, and this is the reaction? Ironically, the countries where violence is now erupting aren't used to the concept/idea/privelege of free speech and aren't used to the concept that just because it is out there, on the internet, or even other media forms, doesn't mean it is government-sanctioned. If we want to spread democracy, we might as well throw in the bill of rights and constitution, and all the pitfalls that come with it, not to mention the tolerance and patience required before any opposing parties just kill each other in broad daylight. It's almost overly simplistic to ask whatever happened to the old 'sticks and stones' retorical question except now the sticks are icbms and stones are ied's?
I Don't Get It
This blog is intended to be therapeutic, and maybe there are others out there who are as confused and dumbfounded as I am about the state of the world as well as the people in it. I have to laugh in order to preserve my sanity! Feel free to comment (if anyone reads this:). :)

Please wake me the second week in November!
Well, wow, where to start and keep it short? Todd Aiken who I not so affectionately call Odd Fakin made some really bizarre remarks about women's bodies and their abilities. Then he so not-so-intelligently put together a campaign-related apology where he revealed that rape can result in pregnancy. Thank God he cleared that up! Where would we be without this second coming of stupidity to guide us in Washington! What a team player that he wouldn't step down at the request of most intelligent people! His six??? seconds that we know about are what his mindset was to set policy in DC! If he had any balls and concern for the state of the Republican party he would go teach women's studies somewhere and not further embarass Missouri. If this state is stupid enough to vote him in, I want to move. What if he made those comments before the primary?
The saddest part in commentaries (besides Odd Fakin not bowin out gracefully) is the 'anyone but Claire' mentality. I may fall in a small group but every vote counts and I was in that group but now with Todd, I shifted to anyone but Todd. If he had any concern for those besides himself, I would have voted republican. Take a hint from Spock from Star Trek. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one, and Todd, YOU ARE NOT THE ONE. You may be the one to lose the seat. Thanks so much for your self serving concern.

That was SO 27 seconds ago, and 'because I am feeling richer' effect
I wish the legal system and doctor's offices worked at the speed of 4G like ATT but oh well. These ads annoy me for several reasons. First, try extracting your cell phone from your face. If you are that desperate to get information that quickly, then something seems amiss in your 'real' life. (That is unless you are a stock trader, entering a contest, or buying on Ebay.) I remember a story a couple of years ago where in an English town they put padding around lamp posts because people were texting and walking into them. Really? I would have put a loud siren to scare them back to reality. The only defense to these types of commercials is that the kid obviously knows math assuming he isn't using an app for that.
Then we have the feeling richer commercials. Instead of 'driving a car like one owned by a hiphop star', how about 'paid off my child's tuition' or 'made a significant charitable contribution'? No wonder so many kids (and adults) put so much value on materialistic stuff.

Another school shooting? at Episcopal High School in Florida
It sounds like some guy got fired, got mad, and figured he would kill his 'ex' boss. I feel so grateful that my children are no longer in school and can only wonder what it will be like for their children. When my youngest asked for a cell phone, she got one so that she could text me or I could text her if necessary. Now kids are calling 911? Maybe the PTA should fund cell phones that have 911 only capacity and hope they pick the right kids/teachers to give them to. It's sickening to hear these types of stories so often.

Super (expensive and annoying) Tuesday
While I don't want this to be a political blog in any way, shape, or form, it just happens to be "Super Tuesday". You have to wonder how many starving children in Africa (or better yet, right here in the good old USA) could be fed if those darn Republicans would just pick someone, have the others use their funds for something good instead of annoying ads, etc, and get on with it. My recommendation would be to put the darn thing on Ebay and wake me the day after the election. I guess these 'candidates' just need to feed their egos, but enough already! These 'debates' are like a new season of a reality show which I don't watch either. Thank God for the Comedy Channel!
